Phase I of the North Carolina Avenue widening project (left) is adding two lanes of traffic between Pacific Avenue and Route 30. Once completed, North Carolina Avenue will serve as a main entrance corridor to Resorts and the Downtown. Construction on this phase of the project will last until approximately December 31, 2001.

Originally located on North Carolina Avenue for nearly 100 years, Atlantic City Linen was forced to relocate due to the North Carolina Avenue expansion project. The relocation of the company was in cooperative effort between the Atlantic City Linen ownership, the City of Atlantic City and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

Construction is underway on the new New York Avenue elementary school (left) located between New York & Tennessee avenues and Adriatic & Caspian avenues.

 

The 228-step, 150-year-old Absecon Lighthouse (right) will be holding the grand opening of its new Keeper's House, located on Rhode Island Avenue, this fall.

 




One Stop Bait & Tackle (left) has reappeared at 416 Atlantic Avenue after an August 23, 2001, fire devastated its location on the 300 block of Atlantic Avenue. Winter hours are 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
