Imagine taking to the Boardwalk for a brisk early morning run or a leisurely sunset stroll. At some point you decide to relax and people-watch, so you take a seat on one of the many benches that line the wooden thoroughfare. At that moment, fond and wonderful memories of times spent with friends, family or loved ones on the nation's first Boardwalk come flooding back. With the Special Improvement District's Boardwalk Bench Dedication program, these memories can now become a lasting tribute.

For only $1,000, individuals may purchase a six-foot Victor Stanley Ductile iron bench, the same bench that is used on the world famous Atlantic City Boardwalk. When a bench is purchased, the individual may select a location on the Boardwalk that either has an existing bench in place or one that does not have a bench at all.

To make the bench uniquely yours, a personal greeting of up to 50 letters may be selected to be applied to a 4"x12" aluminum cast plaque in silver lettering on a black background. Your personalized plaque will then be installed on the bench's backrest. The Special Improvement District will move your bench to an existing location or to the new location of your choosing, where it will remain as a lasting tribute for years to come.

To date, 12 benches have been dedicated and remain on the Boardwalk for all to see. If you are interested in honoring the memory of a friend or loved one with your own Boardwalk bench, act now, because only 200 benches are available for this unique program.
