As we mark the start of spring, our thoughts are turning to summer and that perennial summer pastime, going “down the shore.” Our friends at The Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority are happy to help jump-start the thought process with their list of 10 new reasons to visit the city that’s Always Turned On. You might even want to come and enjoy some of them before summer starts.

.) The chic shops, enjoyable eateries and cool clubs at The Quarter, Tropicana’s Havana-themed addition that opened last November.

.) Beach bars. There will be several additions to the high-energy beach bar scene this summer. In fact, you’ll be able to spend the day - or night -- just going from one to another. Details to be announced as the season nears.

.) House of Blues. The legendary club is transforming the Boardwalk side of Showboat into a new entertainment Mecca.

.) Nikki Beach Club on the beach at Resorts. Resorts flaunts its new, hip attitude by bringing the famous Miami-based club - and Nikki Beach models - to its first northeast location. 5Holy cow, there’s an explosion of big-name steak restaurants that are adding Atlantic City to their lists of stellar locations. Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris and Gallagher’s are all beefing up the already-long list of meaty eateries.

.) New stores, restaurants and clubs at Atlantic City Outlets - The Walk. The multi-block upscale outlet center continues to open new stores on a regular basis, and is planning to expand in the not-too-distant future.

.) Casino lounges. Trendy hot spots abound, and with them come both trendy and just plain folks to mix and mingle.

.) Movies to the max. The Imax Theater at The Quarter gives a whole new dimension to a night at themovies.

.) Party, party, party. That’s the Always Turned On theme at sophisticated new clubs and bars around town. From Xhilaration and Sapphire Bar at Harrah’s to 320 Luxe Lounge at The Quarter and Toga Bar at Caesars, which recently joined the hot, hot, hot scene, there’s a place for every style.

.) For those who want more than a hotel room, new suites at the Madison House will give you a chance to spread out. The Sands has updated the adjacent historic luxury hotel by creating an all-mini-suites facility with an upscale ambiance.
