The
ACSID/SGI Environmental Services team is responsible for maintaining
the cleanliness of the District. Through manual policing (pan and broom)
and the utilization of a number of specialized machines they sweep, power
wash, vacuum and steam clean streets and sidewalks; remove weeds, litter
and graffiti; and maintain planters, garbage receptacles and banners
throughout the District.
Asked what impact
this new alliance would have on existing services, Donald A. Guardian,
Executive Director of the Atlantic City Special
Improvement District replied, “Michael Baccile and Joe Waninger
of SGI have been in the forefront of Improvement Districts and Open
Space management in the United States for more than 13 years. We have
been lucky over the past 12 years to have one or both involved in the
Atlantic City operation. Now that Michael and Joe are principals
in a company dedicated to providing Environmental and Ambassador services to
Improvement Districts, selecting SGI for this contract is a no-brainer. We're
thrilled to have their experience of managing fifteen other districts - more
than any other company in the United States - supervising our two divisions.”
Dan
Pirillo adds, “I can say with a great deal of confidence that
we have set the bar for Improvement Districts in this country.” Dan,
a member of the Atlantic City Special Improvement's team since 1993,
now oversees the Environmental Services and District Ambassadors Divisions
as Director of ACSID for Service Group, Incorporated (SGI).
ACSID is excited to welcome SGI as their environmental service provider. Through
this partnership, the Atlantic City Special Improvement District will advance
its goal
of a clean, green, safe downtown for citizens and visitors alike.
