The 3rd annual Meet Mr. Bunny special event was held on Saturday, March 30, 2002, in O'Donnell Park as groups of giddy children gathered for a chance to meet and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

The children were able to have a free picture taken with the world's most famous bunny rabbit by providing a $10 receipt of purchase from any downtown Atlantic City business. The intent is to attract
people to the downtown and encourage them to shop at the many downtown businesses.

Candy, prizes and fun were the theme of the afternoon. Mayor Lorenzo T. Langford, Councilman Dennis Mason and several other city dignitaries stopped by to wish all of those in attendance a
Happy Easter.

This event was sponsored by the City of Atlantic City, Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, and the merchants and casinos of the Special Improvement District.

On a windy and cold afternoon on Friday, December 21, 2001, Santa Claus once again arrived in Center City Park on Atlantic Avenue to a chorus of cheers and applause from hundreds of children hoping to receive an early Christmas present during the 3rd annual Downtown Winter Wonderland celebration.

Each holiday year local children are encouraged to write letters to Santa Claus stating what gift they would like to receive. These letters then are dropped off in Center City and O'Donnell Parks in
the special "Letters to Santa" mailbox during the month of December. This year more than 300 letters were submitted. The overwhelming response from local children and their schools could be seen as lines of youngsters stood in queue along the sidewalks at Center City Park.

The Downtown Winter Wonderland special event is sponsored by the City of Atlantic City, Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort, and the merchants and casinos of the Special Improvement District.

Volunteers from the Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer and Heartfund, who annually set up a gift wrapping station at the Hamilton Mall, donated their time and energy this year as they wrapped the more than 300 presents that were handed out to the children.
