Throughout the summer season the Landscaping Division has continued to keep Atlantic City green on a daily basis with its hard work.

Construction was completed in April on a new outdoor courtyard at Fish Heads Seafood Restaurant (left) on the corner of Kentucky and Arctic avenues. Features include soft landscaping with mulch, plants and decorative fencing on top of the existing capped blockwall. The centerpiece is a fish-shaped design, which has been integrated into the courtyard's concrete pad and filled with red bricks. New stainless steel tables with four attached metal seats and umbrella allow customers to dine outside.

As spring slowly gave way to summer, hundreds of colorful flowers were planted on several street corners throughout the Atlantic City Expressway corridor area (right). These flowers add color and life to the corridor, which welcomes thousands to the city on a daily basis.

Reinvestment Development Authority, beautification of an empty lot on the corner of Massachusetts and Atlantic avenues (left) was completed. A landscaped buffer with a chainlink fence, new soil, plants, trees, mulch, flowers and lush green sod, was installed. New sidewalks will soon be poured too.

Also in June, in conjunction with the Facade Improvement Program, hardscaping improvements were made to Atlantic City Check Cashing at 3100 Atlantic Avenue (right). First, masons installed block across the front and side of the building. The block then was covered with red bricks before soil, plants, colorful flowers and mulch were added.

One of the first projects of the season was completed in March at the corner of Winchester and Albany avenues (left). Hardscaping with decorative block, mulch, plants and flowers was installed.
