The day might have been a bit cool and windy, but that didn't stop the good old Easter bunny from hopping on down to O'Donnell Park on Saturday, April 19, 2003 for the annual Meet Mr. Bunny special event.

The afternoon was filled with games, fun and enough entertainment to keep even the most energetic of children occupied and scampering home tired. An Easter egg hunt had adventurous little ones running around the park in search of the plastic-shaped treasures. Of course, there was plenty of sugary candy to go around, which would explain the buzz that the dozens of children created on this special day.

The Easter bunny himself greeted starry-eyed children and posed for photographs as smiling parents snapped away. Some lucky ones even walked away with a special basket filled to the brim with goodies and treats. There was no denying that the park was a fun place to be. The Easter bunny waved and greeted curious honking motorists as they drove by. Brightly-colored balloons adorned the landscape and jumped around with glee in the stiff breeze.

This annual event (above left and right) was sponsored by the City of Atlantic City, Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Councilman Dennis Mason, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and the merchants and casinos of the Special Improvement District.

On Wednesday, July 9, 2003 the Special Improvement District and Atlantic City Regional Chamber of Commerce teamed up to co-sponsor "An Evening on the Avenue" Mardi Gras special event and "Business After Hours Mixer" on the corner of Atlantic and Massachusetts avenues.

This event (right) was held in conjunction with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony officially unveiling the new facade enhancement at Mel's Furniture, located at 508 Atlantic Avenue. Live entertainment was performed by the group "Island Jam," while food and beverages were provided by Le Grand Fromage.
