When
it comes to providing Atlantic City's residents, visitors and commercial
business entrepreneurs with light security and a friendly helping hand,
the Special Improvement District's Ambassadors are always up for the task. From Memorial Day to November or December, weather permitting, three Bike Patrol Ambassadors divide the district into two areas (Maine to Michigan avenues and Michigan to Kingston avenues) and ride those area seven days a week, providing light security throughout the city and at selected special events. Three full-time seasonal Boardwalk Information Gazebo Ambassadors man the two centers at Brighton Park and New York Avenue seven days a week, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. from Memorial Day through the Miss America Pageant in September. Our Ambassadors are on duty to help visitors with directions, information and to convey a positive image of Atlantic City. Located at Brighton Park, the People Mover shuttles pedestrians from the Boardwalk to the Sands and Claridge casinos. Three Ambassadors staff the People Mover throughout the year and assist visitors with information, and keep an accurate count of the number of visitors that ride the belt. The Ambassadors, on occassion throughout the year, are called on to support several events, such as the Farmers Market in Center City Park, Kids Fair, Meet Mr. Bunny, Halloween Haunted Hayride, Downtown Winter Wonderland and many others. |
