Double Rainbow Ice Cream and Coffee Cafe, and LoPresti Pizza ~ compliment the many retail shops.

To compliment the new facade enhancements, and to bring about a uniform design, the ACSID worked with Atlantic City's City Council to revise an ordinance allowing table and chair ensambles (above) along a designated stretch of the Boardwalk.

The tables and chairs were provided to eateries, thus allowing pedestrians to dine and enjoy the Boardwalk's atmosphere, and most importantly to improve the flow of traffic along the Boardwalk.

Committed to the City's Future
The ACSID remains committed to its originally stated goal of helping commercial property owners improve their storefronts while revitalizing the city's business district.

Since the program's inception in 1999, the Facade Program has completed 62 facade projects for a total ACSID contribution of $1,219,000. The average cost of each facade from these numbers stands at $19,661.29.

In 2003, the Facade Program completed 16 projects, and provided $400,000 in professional and construction fees while doing so.

Commercial property owners contributed $125,000 of their own money towards these facade enhancements as well in 2003.

In all, a total of $3,425,000 was invested in 2003 by public/private interests for interior and exterior improvements.

These numbers reflect the commitment and the faith in the city's future that the Facade Program, public and private interests all collectively hold.
